"This is Everything;It Was Everything to Me"

8 x 10 mixed media reversible accordion fold book with with mono/relief/screen printed pages (with the pages stretched out it is about 67 inches, based on my physical height) the cover is screenprint, decoden cream + cabochon/found objects/stickers on fabric and mylar.

A "Goodbye Book" I made as a final for my Printmedia Practices class in Fall 2023. It’s about disillusionment. It’s about unfolding a situation after the fact and discovering how much pain was endured trying to avoid giving something up. It’s reading it back and forth, going between is and was, not realizing what’s continuing the cycle. It’s “we can make this work I promise.” It’s about my own vulnerability as a person and an artist, exposing the undesirable parts of myself I hid behind endless photos of flying rabbits and kittens and funny t shirts and smiles. It’s regret. It’s an apology being made way too late, destined to only fall on deaf ears. it’s missing what once was. it’s wishing I could’ve handled things better, wishing I tried harder. It’s trying to let words out under turmoil. It’s literally everything right now
